Course programme

Our AAT Access distance learning course (also known as the Entry Award in Accounting) is a short qualification that introduces you to fundamental business and finance skills. It's a practical way to improve your employability, raise your confidence, and give you a new set of skills. Gaining the AAT Access qualification can help you find work in a range of companies, from local businesses to large blue chip companies. It's also great for anyone setting up their own business.

AAT Access is suited to people who:

  • Have little or no background in accounting and finance in the UK
  • Need a short refresher course in basic business and finance skills
  • Want to find out what accountancy and finance involves, before committing to more study
  • Plan to study the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, and want to make sure they have basic business and finance skills.

Mathematics for accounting

Essential accounting procedures

  • Apply basic accounting terminology to business documents and procedures.
  • Understand the principles of single entry accounting systems, including preparing to record business transactions in the books of prime entry.
  • Identify various types of coding and batch control.
  • Prepare documents to process receipts and payments.
  • Draw up a basic profit statement.

METHOD OF STUDY You will receive

You will take your online exam at a local testing centre..

You will need to pay the registered testing centre a fee for your exams which is £38.00

When you enrol on the course you will need to register as a member of AAT and the current cost is £39.00 and this is a one-off fee.

You will also need to pay an annual membership fee of £84.00 and this can be paid by Direct Debit in instalments if preferred.
