Background
Traditionally, Actuarial science is practiced in the domain of Life Insurance. Recently, it has made inroads into Non-life insurance also, especially in case of Casualty and Property insurances. The need for actuarial inputs is accepted wholeheartedly and its importance is being highly appreciated. In Indian non-life sector the importance of Actuarial Knowledge has been rather low. Now that the Regulator has decided to make it mandatory for all premiums to be certified by an Actuary, there is a need for having a comprehensive understanding of actuarial aspects of non-life insurance. This programme is designed to give a comprehensive introduction to the subject.
