Advance Mountaineering Course

AMC has been designed to train the trainees to become future skillful and members of expeditions into the Himalayas and to churn out 'Lead Climbers'.
One is entitled for an AMC if he or she has got an ‘A' Grade in the Basic Mountaineering Course from any acknowledged mountaineering Center. Besides revising up their fundamental techniques, the following skills also imparted.
The aim of the training programme is:
• latest skills on how to climb on rock, snow & ice
• Planning and Executing an trip in the Himalayas
• Scientific and technical approach of mountaineering and related subjects
Trainees are given a task on how to plan an expedition to a height above six thousand Meters/twenty thousand feet which is being completed by them in the mountains of Garhwal Himalayas, under the guidance of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering Staffs for instruction
