There is no word count for these assignments. However, one sentence answers will be rejected and you will have to re-submit it for marking.

Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, you will be awarded your Award by NCFE & EDL as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the programme.

Students wishing to enrol on the Advanced Counselling course must have a minimum of a Professional Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, or have completed a 10 day Introduction to Counselling course.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

Counsellor
As a counsellor, you would give people time, attention and a safe, confidential environment to help them explore their feelings. People can seek counselling formany reasons, including relationship difficulties, bereavement, or wanting to improve the way they deal with everyday life. Your work would involve: building a relationship of trust and respect with clients agreeing on a 'counselling contract' to establish what will be covered in sessions encouraging clients to talk about the feelings that have made them seek counselling actively listen, asking questions and clarifying your understanding of the client's situation empathising with the client's issues, but challenging them when necessary helping clients to see things more clearly or from different perspectives accepting without bias issues that might be raised referring clients to other sources of help if appropriate attending regularsessions with your counselling supervisor keeping confidential records.
