Advanced Dip. in Functional Sanskrit

The course of sanskrit is one of the most important department of this university. The department supports the Under-graduate students studying in any branch of Music, Dance or Visual Arts as their major subjects. The department has keen interest and working excellently in the field of inter-disciplinary teaching & research. There are a number of research scholars who are working on various topics relating to music, dance and fine arts. The department is fully dedicated for oriental studies to meet out the requirement of different fields of music and fine arts. Study of Sanskrit is very important for music and arts because basic texts of music are written in sanskrit. So to get proper and authentic knowledge of music and arts, study of sanskrit language and literature is very necessary. The university has published many manuscripts with the help of sanskrit department. Sanskrit, a classical language is very useful for the scholars of music and arts.

The department provides opportunity to study sanskrit literature as a selected subject during graduation by desired students. Along with this general sanskrit is also a option for the students of B.Mus. and B.F.A.

The department runs one year Junior Functional Sanskrit Diploma and two year Senior Functional Sanskrit Diploma courses. In this way the department of Sanskrit is playing great and important role to get excellency in teaching and research of music and fine arts in higher education.
