Advanced Diploma in Animation Film Making

Advanced diploma in animation film making is the complete animation film making course. It begins with an art foundation where the emphasis is on developing the visual and artistic skills of the candidate first, and then proceeds to the aesthetics and science of animation. One will be trained in the mechanics of motion, its applications in bio-mechanics, where the principles of motion is practically applied in to custom made characters. The course advances through character animation with a emphasis on character acting.

Film language, filmmaking fundamentals, visual development, storyboarding, design for animation, and the production procedures of animation from script to film is covered in advanced stages. The afterward and most important part of the course is devoted to digital animation where you will learn to create and animate characters in virtual setting. The course concludes with the production of a port folio short film designed, animated and composited by the student.

Semester - I

The first three months is basic art foundation. The students will be exposed to the basics of drawing and more importantly good visuals. Starting with contour drawings and understanding values, the course will grade up to still life studies and anatomical studies culminating in adapting this understanding into cartoon characters.

Semester - II

The next 3 months will be devoted to understanding the principles of animation and applying them to objects and characters. Starting with simple object animation, the course will grade up through bio mechanical actions to basic character acting

Semester - III

The next 6 months will take the students through an understanding of pre production, post production and character acting. The students will also be introduced to 3D animation using Maya as the medium.
