The Guru Nanak Dev University's Faculty of Economics and Business offers Advanced Diploma Course in Aviation Management course to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

Part-I
Aviation Planning : Kinds of Airport Planning, System Planning at National, State and Regional/Metropolitan level. Airport Master Planning – Airport requirements, site selection, Airport layout plans and financial plans, Interrelationship of Airport planning and planning for other modes of transportation.

Elements of Airfield Design : Evolution of the principles of Airport design, Runway direction/wind rose ; runway lengths, widths, lighting, marking, pavement ; taxiways and aprons, dimensions and clearance standards and navigation aids and air traffic control, Airfield capacity and delay.
Impacts of Aviation : Economic impact of Airports in any country, Environmental impacts related to Airports, Interaction of organizations within aviation industry.

Part-II

Financial Management : Aviation Resource Management, Developing a business plan for an aviation operation, Economic Analysis methods employed by aviation industry to assess profitability of aviation operations, Quantification of aircraft maintenance departmental expenses.
Aviation Marketing : Airline marketing, pricing, demand and output determination Customer Relationship Management in aviation industry, Airport Retailing.

Aviation Human Resource Management : Fleet planning : the aircraft selection process, Labour relations management in airlines.
Aviation Law/Legislative and Legal Aspects of Aviation.
Practical : Computer Applications of Online Reservations and other Allied areas.
Project : To be taken from any aspect related to syllabus.
