The Department teaching faculty has rich experience in Research & Development. Students are given field training and vehicle servicing practice and are encouraged to select such topics for their projects as are relevant to present day needs.

The department periodically organises state level exhibitions of latest vehicles, which arouse a lot of interest even among the public. The department's laboratory is equipped with computerized wheel-alignment, computerized wheel-balancer and latest emission testing units for both diesel and petrol engines. With such latest facilities and expertise, the department has started a commercial vehicle service centre, so that students have exposure to the latest vehicles in a simulated plant environment.
