History

Aizaz Rizvi College of Journalism & Mass Communication (ARCJMC) A Guru Jambeshwar University Study Centre. Aizaz Rizvi College of Journalism & Mass Communication is the first Study Centre of Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar at Lucknow. Guru Jambeshwar University (GJU) was established by an Act of Legislature of Haryana State on October 20, 1995 (Haryana Act 17 of 1995) . The University enjoys a rare distinction of getting recognized by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) for recognition of degrees, on11.1.1996 and, under section 12(B) of the UGC Act to be eligible for central assistance, on 7.2.1997 i.e., within 15 months of its coming into being. The University opted for accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous organization of the University Grants Commission, in 2001-02. As a result of the exercise, the NAAC accredited this University at 'A' level (institutional score 85%) among the Universities for a period of five-years beginning 2002-03.

b. ARCJMC has been awarded ALEE Award - 2011 given by Dr. A. K. Walia, Hon’ble Health Minister – Delhi Government & Parliamentary Secretary – Delhi Government, Shri Anil Bhardwaj at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.

2. ARCJMC has a well – equipped Electronic Media Studio for shooting & recording – Camera: Sony PD 170 DV Cam with its tripod, gun & boom microphone and sungun; lights; Editing Bay(FCP Machine I-MAC).

Description

ARCJMC provides state-of-the-art training to young graduates aspiring to a career in journalism and mass communication. The short term and one year course will begin in mid-July and end in June every year. Classes and practicals will be held at ARCJMC premises, Him City Part 1,Deva Road Chinhat a prime location in educational hub of Lucknow. This is a hands-on course,with a heavy emphasis on practical training. Students receive a well-rounded education in journalism and develop advanced skills in reporting and writing for the print medium, PR &Event Management, Electronic medium, Corporate Communication and Development Communication. The aim of the course is to maximize the student's employment potential. To that end, hands-on training will be stressed, while at the same time students are given a solid grounding in journalism theory. The goal of ARCJMC is to produce journalists who will become fully integrated members of the media industry in the shortest possible time. A graduate from ARCJMC with considerable exposure to the latest technology and journalistic practices at various media houses will be highly valued by the industry.
