B.Com in Commercial Accounting

Thecourse of Commercial Accounting has evolved from the School of Accounting from the old Technikon Witwatersrand.

the career focused courses (National Diplomas and National Higher Certificates) were housed in what was first called the Department of Cost Accounting. This Department has now evolved into the Department of Commercial Accounting.

The course offering has remained relatively covers all three streams of Accounting, Costing and Auditing; with the final subject stream choices being made in the third year. The diplomas in Financial Information Systems and in Credit Management have also remained within the Department of Commercial Accounting.
