Molecular biology, genetic engineering and fermentation process technology are gaining wide industrial applications. It is widely used for the development of technologies or products in industry, medicine as well as for environmental benefits. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum district and recognised by the government of Karnataka.
