B. E in Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Electronics & Communication Engineering branch started in 1997 with 60 intake. One of the most popular branches of engineering in the institution. The curriculum has been updated by the university to meet the present day requirements in IT industries. The department runs a 4 year degree course with an annual intake of 120 students.

B. Short Term Goals:

* To promote academic expertise of the faculty and to attain excellence in Engineering & Technology.
* To update the existing laboratories with the latest Equipment and develop new Laboratories for R & D activities
* To enhance interaction with Industries to undertake Consultancy and R&D Projects and other Technical Institutions to exchange technical know-how.

C. Long Term Goals:

To develop Centre of Excellence in specialized fields such as Optical Communication, DSP, broadband Technology, VLSI and Embedded System. To offer academic program at P.G. level.

D. Performance of the Department in the Final Year Examination 2008-09 is 94%.

2.A. About the branch:

The Electronics and Communication Department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).Electronics has brought revolution in modern industries. It is the backbone in miniaturizing the present day tools, gadgets with intelligence to produce highly talented, well-trained engineers. The department was started in the year 1997. The Department is running B.E course with the intake of 120.The Department has at its disposal well equipped labs to provide hands on experience and to realize the practical aspect of theory learned. The Department has to its credit brilliant and dedicated engineers who have set benchmarks and proved themselves to be capable leaders in the ever evolving industry.

The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members, who have expertise in various areas like VLSI& Embedded systems, Communication Engineering, Optical Fiber Communication, DSP, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics etc.,

The department has best infrastructure and is continuously upgrading to meet the changing trends in technology and growing strength of students. Department has six well equipped laboratories with latest hardware and Software technologies. In the computer lab all systems are connected via Local Area Network and Internet facility is also provided. The department has procured the latest State -of the -Art tools for R&D activities.

The Departmental Club

The E-VISION (The EC Club): The objective of this club is to provide a common platform to all the Electronics & Communication Engineering students and staff to organize, participate , and conduct extracurricular activities such as seminars, workshops, quizzes, paper presentations, to celebrate teachers day, engineers day and other various activities.
