Course programme
The Undergraduate programme in History offers eight courses of which six are Basic courses and two are Major courses. The syllabi of the Basic courses concentrate on Indian History offering a systematic study of the political, social and cultural conditions of India starting from the pre-historic age to the Modern times, upto 1950. The two courses which are offered as Major courses deal with Ancient Greek and Roman Civilization and the History of Modern World. All the above mentioned courses aim to stimulate enthusiasm, for the study of History, and to provide a basis for more detailed study at the Postgraduate level
FIRST SEMESTER:
Ancient India —From the beginning to the end of the 3rd Century A.D.
SECOND SEMESTER:
Ancient India(North India 600 A.D-1206 A.D and
South India 600 A.D-1336 A.D)
THIRD SEMESTER:
History of Medieval India -(1206 A.D. to 1526 A.D.)
FOURTH SEMESTER:
History of Medieval India (A.D. 1526 to 1761 A.D.)
FIFTH SEMESTER:
History of Modern India (from the Advent of the Europeans upto 1857 Revolt)
