B.Sc. Biochemistry

The course in Biochemistry has a well equipped laboratory with all necessary instruments and chemicals with separate storeroom. Apart from the usual instruments, the chromatographic chamber, cyclomixer, pH meter, centrifuge, colorimeter, a temperature adjustable water bath with shaker are available. A variety of kits, which are used for blood grouping, typing, cross matching, Widal, VDRL, pregnancy, ASO titer and tests for normal diagnosis are also available. The normal quantative estimation has been replaced by several advanced kit methods for testing glucose, cholesterol, urea, uric acid, phosphorus, iron and bile pigments. All the apparatus are being calibrated in the lab at the beginning of every academic year to ensure the correct functioning. The staff room is attached with the lab to monitor the activities of the students.
