This branch of Basic Science plays a vital role in understanding nature. Most of the branches of Engineering and Technology are offshoots of Physics. Without the study of Physics there will be no scientific advancement. The results of research in Physics have applications in fields such as Agriculture, Medicine, Space Science, etc.

A portion of the lab is connected with U. P. S. The Costly equipments available with the Department are, ultrasonic interferometer, Michel- son's interferometer, and one constant temperature bath for growing crystals. A separate crystal growth laboratory is being established
