The course is conducted in the following manner-
* In the first year, the students are taught Probability, Time Series, Index Numbers and Statistical Distribution.
* In the second year, the students are made familiar with Point and Interval Estimation and Testing of Hypothesis.
* IIn the final year, the students are trained in the topics of Analysis of Variants, Statistical Quality Control, Operations Research, C Programming, Demography and Sampling.
* Statistics practicals are numerical fulfilled using calculators and computers.
The students are assessed on the basis of a standard pattern which is followed in all the years. Every student's performance is evaluated with continuous internal assessment in the form of assignments, quizzes and projects. They are required to write two internal tests and the end semester exam for both semesters in each academic year.
The course provides one credit course - Statistics for Beginners.
