B. Tech: Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of this Institute started in the year 1964, is now offering apart from the Undergraduate Programme, Post Graduate Programmes in power systems and Power Electronics, and also Research Degrees M.S. and Ph.D in the various fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NIT Trichy is recognized for excellence in teaching, research and service to the profession. The academic strength of the faculty is reflected by the alumni, many of whom are in the top echelons of industry and academicia both in India and Abroad.

The first year of the B.Tech(Electrical and Electronics Engineering) academic program has common classes for all the departments. The students from all departments are conglomerated together in various sections. Students from all the departments offering B.Tech course are present in any given section.

The academic year is divided into two semesters. Both the semesters have two cycle tests followed by the semester examination.
