The Department aims to impart Technical Education to students and satisfy all the requirements needed for the Industrial Environment.
Being affiliated to the Anna University, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of the Panimalar Engineering College follows their courses and syllabus prescribed by Anna University which focuses on the basic knowledge in the areas of:
AC and DC Machines
Transmission and Distribution
Design of Electrical Apparatus
Protection and Switchgear
Power System Analysis
Power System Control
High Voltage Engineering
Solid State Drives etc.
The Electrical and Electronics department has total of 11,000 sq. ft. of well equipped laboratories enabling the students to apply and verify the fundamentals that they have learned at the classrooms.
There are separate labs for each of the semesters that include
Electric circuit analysis lab (II semester)
Electrical machines lab (III and IV semester)
Control systems lab (V semester)
Power electronics lab (V semester)
Measurement and instrumentation lab (VI semester)
Power system simulation lab (VII semester)
During the end of pre final year the students work on a mini project in relevant to their laboratory work.
