B.Tech - Electronics and Communication Engineering

Electronics & Communication along with computer engineering has made this world flat. The importance of the subject is more evident today in the evolution of consumer and industrial electronics that has undergone a sea-change. The undergraduate programme in the department has been re-accredited by National Board of Accreditation (AICTE).
Being one of the largest department of the institute, it has 34 well-qualified faculties on its roll.

The Department has following laboratories :

• Basic Electronics Laboratory.
• Analog Electronics Laboratory
• Digital Electronics Circuit Laboratory.
• Microprocessor laboratory.
• Communication Engineering Laboratory.
• Digital signal Processing Laboratory.
• VLSI Laboratory.

The analog and digital electronics circuit laboratories are well equipped with circuit simulation packages like Multisim, Tanner tools and Pspice etc. The signal processing laboratories have advanced softwares like Matlab (version 7.1) with toolboxes i.e. image process, fuzzy loigc, genetic algorithm, signal processing.
The microprocessor and microcontroller laboratory houses hardware and softwares like Keil PK 51, Keil MCB 2919-ED, Reil MCBST M32E-ED, Keiliu MDK-ARM. The VLSI laboratory has 30 floating license of Complete Tanner Tools Pro. to facilitate complete VLSI design.
The details of Department specific labs are as given below.

• Basic Electronics Laboratory

The Basic Electronics Laboratory provides basic hands-on-training at the Undergraduate level. This laboratory introduces students to identify and learn basic characteristics of basic components like diodes, BJTs, FETs, OPAMPs and Digital gates. CROs, Function Generators, Regulated Power Supply, Bread Boards are available in this laboratory.

• Analog Electronic Circuits Laboratory

This lab takes care of the understanding of various electronic circuits taught at the 3 rd semester level. Stress is given for design and implementation of the circuits both using components and bread boards and using simulation softwares like MultiSim and P-Spice. CROs, Function Generators, Regulated Power Supply, Bread Boards, are available in this laboratory also.

• Digital Electronic Circuits Laboratory

This lab takes care of the understanding of various digital electronic circuits taught at the 4 th semester level. Stress is given for design and implementation of the circuits both using components and bread boards and using simulation languages like Verilog and VHDL. CROs, Function Generators, Regulated Power Supply and Bread Boards are available in this laboratory like other laboratory.

• Communication Engineering Laboratory

This lab takes care of the understanding and hands on training of various analog and digital communication techniques. It provides ample opportunities for a student to understand various nuances of analog and digital communication. The equipments like DSOs, CROs, Function Generators, and Communication Trainer Kits are available in this laboratory.

• Communication System Laboratory

This lab takes care of the understanding and hands on training of various analog and digital communication systems like Microwave, Optical And Satellite communication systems. It provides ample opportunities for a student to understand various nuances of the above complicated and advanced communication systems. The equipments available in this lab are Microwave Benches, Fiber Optics Trainers, Satellite Trainer, Spectrum Analyzer, TV Trainer kits.

• Digital Signal Processing Laboratory

This laboratory takes care of the understanding and hands on training of various signal processing techniques and algorithms. It provides ample opportunities for a student to understand various.phpects of the many signal processing techniques. Students are encouraged to develop algorithms and implement both in MATLAB and DSP Processors. This laboratory is also used by both B.Tech. and M.Tech. students. In addition to the above this laboratory also facilitates students who want to do minor and major projects in the area of Signal Processing.
