Electronics & Telecommunication engineering has gone from the simple electrical circuits of Edison and Tesla, through the rocket science of Bode, Evans and Nyquist, to the complexity of integrated circuits with the advent of VLSI technology. Basic telecommunication technologies that began with Bell have blossomed into global networks with satellites, fiber optics and the Internet. Computer technology has grown exponentially and touches all of our lives with processors and controllers embedded into a vast array of devices that secure our safety and add an unprecedented measure of convenience to our lives. Power Electronic systems illuminate our planet and drive our industries. As this progress conveys us into the future with new and exciting engineering challenges, FAMTians will be ready to meet those challenges with the participative efforts of the Management, staff, students & parents.

Telecom systems range in size from pacemakers, and intelligent sensors, to cell phones and PDAs, to stand alone and distributed elements like set top boxes, modems, network elements and to large-scale systems deployed in process control, manufacturing, power generation, defense applications, telecommunications, automotive electronics, air traffic control, video-on-demand and video-conferencing. Telecom systems actually account for more than 90 percent of the manufactured processors. India is emerging as a global telecom design and software destination due to its cost advantages and emerging talent pool in this domain. Demand is continuing to outstrip the availability of highly skilled pool of graduates for the fast evolving telecom & networking industry.

The electronics and communication engineering program reflects the wide diversity of communication and data transmission technologies which we all accept as a vital part of our everyday lives from traditional radio, telegraphy and microwave systems to state-of-the-art optical, satellite and cellular (mobile) communication systems. Students learn about the operating principles and design of devices ranging from mobile phones to wireless networks and satellite communication systems. Electronics & Telecommunication curriculum encompasses almost every profession and diverse spectrum of studies, which fuse into every aspect of life. The Electronics and Telecommunication engineering program includes study of multifaceted areas such as Data Communication & Networking, Elecromagnetics & Antennas, Audio & Video Communication, Signal Processing, Digital Systems, Embedded Systems, RF Circuits, Microwave Electronics & Radar, Fibre Optics, Mobile Communication, Microelectronics and a lot more.
