B.Tech in Information Technology Engineering

The department started in 2002 offers B-Tech degree in Information technology and continues to keep pace with the rapidly changing world of computer and internet based technologies. An innovative mix of courses and programmes are provided to the students to equip them face the challenges head on. It is important to understand, assimilate and demonstrate that the student can apply the knowledge to the research/application environment and what is laid in the courses is a solid foundation that prepares the individual student to purse academic, research or industrial career with rigor and innovation. The department is poised to produce problem solvers who can look at myriad technologies. This eight semester broad based undergraduate course in information technology ensures that the students acquire a strong technical grounding after the course. ln line with the present philosophy of education, the department adopts an evaluation scheme best suited to the needs of the subjects taught. Using a flexible, transparent but rigorous methodology that emphasizes continuous evaluation, a combination of tests, examinations, projects and presentation are used for evaluation. Apart from offering training to the undergraduate students confining to the curriculum, attention is given for further value addition by way of imparting training to the students on emerging areas that cater to the needs of the students who desire an IT-oriented career. The department also encourages interdisciplinary and cross-institutional interactions for its faculty and students.
