Course programme
Department of Mechanical Engineering was started in the year 2003 with
an annual intake of 60 students. The major share of the space was
allocated for experimental facilities at 12 laboratory locations apart
from the teaching-learning classrooms and general amenities. Department
is designed with academic values for the dissemination of conventional
engineering techniques to computerized applications. The department
excels in Design, Modeling and Analysis, Colmposites, Finite Element
Analysis, Advanced Welding Technology, Surface Engineering, CAD/ CAM &
Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Taguchi Techniques and
Nanotechnology.
Effective utilization of experienced faculty in the field of Mechanical Engineering has become the added advantage. Well-trained and suitably qualified laboratory staff was inducted for technical assistance during the experimentation. Multiple laboratory handling and on hands practice is ascertained amongst the five supporting staff members. Specialization at the post graduation of faculty members has been regarded as the department policy for better allocation of the subjects and justification for the true class room education. Concept of tutorials, as a part of the teaching, was practiced for analytical subjects. Special attention is being paid to enrich the library with 794 valuable additions. Five Technical journals have been timely added to meet the requirement of students and faculty. Equipment and associated requirements for the future course work are enlisted for the ready reference.
Quality improvement of the staff members is planned under II phase establishment of laboratories. Project work facilities are planned at the Institution for modeling, analysis and experimentation apart from the assistance extended by the Research and Development and corporate organizations in and around Hyderabad.
