B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering

The course offers a plethora of subjects, which are taught with assistance of a large number of laboratory facilities. Carrying over its heritage of over forty years, the department has moved on in recent times, building on the experience and acumen accumulated to facilitate newer subjects and facilities offered. The ME department boasts of the CAD/CAM lab, the CNC Lab, the Dynamics of Machines Lab, the Fluid Mechanics Lab, the Thermal Engineering Lab etc. all offering state of art facilities. The Robotics Laboratory can be seperately mentioned,as it has an in - house Robot with a programmable interface, capable of operations like object displacement, welding etc.with newly approved TEQIP funds,the departmental classrooms has undergone a complete overhaul , with a fresh look and touch installed. New machines like the Electro Discharge Machines(EDM), Automobile Emmission Checking Machine have been inducted into the laboratoriesm, to facilitate understanding of student.The ME department also allows students to work on new softwares like CATIA, ANSYS, ARENA, MASTERCAM, QUEST etc. The Mechanical Engineering Department is thus part and parcel of the heritage called JGEC..
