BA (General) Elective Bengali

Bengali department came into existence with Elective Bengali (pass) course. Dr. Somendra Narayan Chaudhuri is the head of the department. Department is offering honours course from 1994. Department has well qualified teachers. Part time teachers also play an important role. Sri Banadev Mukherjee and Sri Rabi Roy and Dr. Somendra Narayan Chaudhuri are like three pillars of the department.
The success rate of the department is hundred percent. To improve the standard and quality of course, a number of teaching-aids like audio-cassettes, paintings etc are used by the teachers. Educational tour is one of the most innovative idea of the department. Students are assigned with different projects. teachers and students share a cordial and friendly atmosphere. The course provides comprehensive knowledge about the Bangla language and its literature. On completion of the course one can opt for a job in translating or interpreting or go for writing articles and newspaper features or can even become PR executives of companies dealing with regional languages.
