BA: Islamic History

The Kannur University offers BA: Islamic History course to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

METHODOLOGY AND MUSLIM HISTORIOGRAPHY
The Course intends to familiarize the students with methodology specific to
history and introduces the features of Muslim Historiography and Muslim
Historians

History and Culture of Kerala Muslims
To familiarize students about Islam and its arrival, spread and impact
upon Kerala Society.

Contemporary West Asia
The Aims of the Course is to give the students a general awareness of the
Major Powers and issues in West Asia.

Islam in India ( 711-1707 )
The course intends to provide the students awareness about the glorious
history of their country and develop among student an interest to learn the
history.

Muslims in Europe
The course is to make aware about the condition of Spain on the eve
of and after the coming of Muslims and their intellectual contributions
which paved the way for the European Renaissance.

History of the Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic

History of the Umayyah and Abbasiyah
Foundation of Islamic Culture
Holy Prophet and Pious Caliphs
Contribution of Islam to World Civilization
