History

With a view to filling the dearth of qualified professionals in the field of international business, Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade (BIFT) was established in October 2001, under a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi. Established in 1963 by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, IIFT is rated as the best management school in international business and enjoys the status of a 'Deemed University'.

BIFT offers following advantages to its sudents:-Foreign Visits:Study visits constitute an important aspect of the course curriculum, giving the students practical exposure to the dynamics of the Industry/Corporate business. Interactive sessions with corporate managers are arranged during the visits. Visits to Indian ports such as Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Vizag are being organised to enable them to acquire first hand knowledge of international business logistics and trade, functioning of port administration, customs collectorate, shipping and other trade agencies. Students are also sent on study visits to Singapore, the world's busiest port, as well as to Northport and Westport, Port Klang, Malaysia. During these visits they also meet senior executives of various multinational companies and obtain valuable insights into the dynamics of foreign Trade/International business. -Marketing Cell :The focus is on providing corporate exposure to students in domestic and international marketing. Students come up every week with the latest information, concerning national and international markets. Students are provided the opportunity to present their perceptions, analysis, suggestions and conclusions, which help them enhance their current knowledge and analytical skills. -Seminar Cell:This cell arranges for seminars from distinguished speakers of the Industry. They are in constant touch with dignitaries and eminent personalities from the corporate world. The aim is to acquire diversified knowledge through interaction with the Business World. -Finance Cell:Focus on discussing contemporary financial issues, organising quizzes and games to understand the intricacies of the finance world through self-analysis and experience. Information concerning Stock Markets, Derivatives Markets, Risk Management, etc. is provided.

BIFT offers the Masters Programme in International Business (MPIB), which draws its curriculum from MBA (IB) course of IIFT, which extends faculty and academic support to BIFT. We are located in Kachiguda, Hyderabad, in a big complex that is an aesthetic blend of modern and ancient architecture. Our complex is well-equipped with excellent scholastic ambience Comprises of A/C Lecture Halls supported by Library, Auditorium, Seminar Hall, Computer Center and Cafeteria. BIFT offers following facilities to its students:Library and e-Journals:The BIFT library has a collection of over 10,000 books and subscribes to 40 National/International journals and magazines. As many as 1,100 e-journals through EBSCO and databases like CMIE's India Trades and Prowess, as also Kompass Trade Directory, have been provided to the students.
