Bank Probationary Officer (PO) is a good profile post in any bank. Candidates can be recruited as bank PO after clearing the Bank PO Exam conducted by the respected bank. So it all depends on the performance in the exam, the better you perform, higher is the probability to cut through the competition.
Scheme of Examination:
Objective type test of the P O exam includes Reasoning, Quantitative aptitude, General awareness and English. The test of English, in most of the banking exams, is of qualifying nature and its marks are not considered while preparing the merit list of candidates to be called for interview.
1. Test of Reasoning (75 Questions)

3. General Awareness (50 Questions)
4. English (50 Questions)*
* is of qualifying nature.
The total number of questions asked is 225 and time allowed is 135 minutes.
There will be negative marks for the wrong answers.(one-fourth or 0.25 marks assigned to a question)
Descriptive Test:
Tests the wealth of ideas, higher order cognitive abilities, organization of ideas in a logical coherent manner, written communication skill etc . Language composition, clarity of thoughts and brevity are also matters of consideration in descriptive test. Usually there will be 5 compulsory questions with internal options. The candidates will have an option to write the answers in English or Hindi. In most exams the Descriptive Test carries total marks of 100 with total time duration of 60 minutes. The minimum qualifying marks will be usually 40 %( 35% for reserved category students) The status of descriptive test is for qualifying purpose only. Hence though the candidate has also to pass in the Descriptive Test, the marks obtained in the Test will not be reckoned for the purpose of Merit Ranking.
Personal interview and/or group discussion, is the last stage of the selection process.
