BCA
The Department of Computer Applications has been established in 1999 with two programmes on offer: MCA (Master of Computer Applications) and BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) in affiliation with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra with an annual intake of 40 seats in each programme.
The MCA programme is duly approved by AICTE, MHRD, Govt. of India and State Govt. The MCA programme has also been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), a subsidiary of AICTE responsible for establishing, managing and monitoring the Quality of Technical Education in India, in year 2006.
From Academic Session 2000-01, the MCA programme got trans-affiliated to U. P. Technical University, Lucknow by the orders of State Government and an enhancement of 20 seats in each programme was approved by their respective statutory authorities.
Looking at the enormous requirement of talented IT professionals in market, the Department started three new PG and UG programme in IT in affiliation with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra in Academic Session 2000-01 namely MIS# (Master of Information Science), BIS# (Bachelor of Information Science) and B.eCom# (Bachelor of Electronic Commerce) with an annual intake of 60 seats in each programme.
From Academic Session 2001-02, the annual intake of BCA programme has been enhanced to 120 seats from the earlier 60 seats.
From Academic Session 2003-04, the annual intake of MCA programme has been enhanced to 120 seats from the earlier 60 seats.
From Academic Session 2007-08, the Department has expanded and started offering PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) Programme duly approved by AICTE, MHRD, Govt. of India with an annual intake of 60 seats which has been enhanced to 120 seats w.e.f. Academic Session 2009-10. W.e.f. Academic Session 2009-10, a separate Department has been created for PGDM programme under Faculty of Computer Applications.
The Department of Computer Applications has always got the distinction of being the largest Department of the Institute in terms of number of programmes offered and students' volume.
