Certificate Course in Computer Aided Accounting

The Guru Nanak Dev University's Faculty of Engineering and Technology offers Certificate Course in Computer Aided Accounting to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

1. ACCOUNTS :
Accounting as an information system, Types of accounts, Accounting concepts & conventions, Accounting cycle, Journal, Ledger, Trial Balance, Advantages & Limitations of accounts. Understanding and preparation of financial statements – (only sole trading concern) nature, uses and limitations.

2. COMPUTER :
A) THEORY : Information : Concepts & Processing, Elements of a Computer Processing System, Computer Fundamental External / Internal Devices, Lan & Wan.

B) PRACTICAL : Introduction to Windows
Introduction to MS-Office, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point, Internet, E-Mail basics.
- Browsing of Web
- Introduction to Tally (Passing entries & making of vouchers through Tally)

MINOR PROJECT : Students will prepare a project on MS-Word, Excell or PowerPoint provided it should be based on accounting work.
