Importance of floriculture (Ornamental Horticulture). General cultivation of annuals (Seasonal flowers). Cultivation and management of Roses and perennials like Chrysanthemum, Dahlia and Marigold for home gardening. establishment and maintenance of lawns. use of flowers for different purposes. Growing and maintenance of indoor plants. Protected cultivation for encouraging off-season flowers.

Identification of seasonal flowers. Seed bed preparation, sowing, nursery raising and transplantation of annuals. Planning and layout of home gardens. Visit to flower growers and commercial nurseries. Growing of plants in net houses/playhouses.
