BE in Civil Engineering

A Civil Engineer has to work in diverse fields viz. Irrigation, Dams, Canals, Hydropower, Roads, Railways, Buildings, Industrial Structures, Bridges, Docks, Harbours, Airfields, Tunnels, Environmental Engineering (including Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Systems) etc. The job of a Civil Engineer extends over a wide spectrum of activities involving planning, designing, construction and maintenance of various Civil Engineering works. A Civil Engineer is also responsible for management of various resources, personnel, administration, finance and construction.


B.E. (Civil Engineering) Programme
B.E. (Civil) is a four years undergraduate programme spread over eight semesters (with 5 papers each), being conducted as prescribed by University of Pune . B.E.(Civil Engineering) programme of this department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE)

Departmental Library
Apart from Central library of the institute, the Department of Civil Engineering also has a library of its own. This contains books that are commonly required by the students, including reference books. Bulletins, journal of various professional institutions like Institution of Engineers ( India ), Proceedings of Conferences/Seminars/Workshops, technical literature from the various construction companies pertaining to their products or projects executed by them etc. are also available in the library for students' reference. The library has also a very good collection of Video Cassettes and VCDs pertaining to Civil Engineering Construction and allied fields from India and abroad.
