Course Objective

Over last few decades, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) has penetrated almost every sphere of business activities. Beginning as a support tool, ICT has slowly become a crucial implement for attaining strategic objectives. Its imperative that today's executives must learn to use information for better decision making, understand how ICT transforms business, and make ICT investment decisions wisely. Before that she needs to acquire some basic ICT skills in order to have a good understanding of and interest in current technology trends.

This course has been designed with the following objectives:

* Understanding the ICT concepts from business perspectives
* Revisiting basic ICT tools for potential applications to business

Course Structure:
The course will consist of the following three modules to be taught in 10 classes:

Module I: Corporate Computing Fundamentals (4 classes)
ICT Infrastructure Platforms, Decision Support Systems.

Module II: Data Communications & Networking (3 classes)
Internet, Intranet & Extranet, Web, Wireless & Mobile.

Module III: Data Handling Techniques (3 classes)
Database, Data warehouse, Object-Oriented Approach.

Evaluation:
MCQ type examination will be held in the mid-term week. To qualify for "Pass" grade, a student has to score at least 50%.
