Course in Cinematography

This course is equivalent to cinematography courses in digital video format. The course begins with focussing on learning light, composition, aperture and lensing on regular film still camera as It is the best medium to understand the basics of camera in any cinematography course. Slowly the course moves to explore the technicalities of video camera and its advantage and limitation vis-à-vis a film camera. The course gives ample exercise to understand the demands of shooting fiction and documentary. The students are expected to have a good flair for understanding optical mathematics and sensitive towards moods of lighting, colour and textures. A cameraman to become good in the profession of cinematography also has to learn how to read a screenplay and interpret the director's vision in image capturing terms.
