Course in Data Management

The course covers the basics of Data Management in adequate feature to get users into the concepts of Data Management. The course start off at the very essential operations of interpreting and writing data files, data cleaning, and data validation. When the students have an appreciation of the Data Management Timeline, they move on to creating more complex scripts, which control applications on computer systems. Through progressive interactions of script building, they develop skills in handling studio features and some of the basics of handling system and Microsoft Office applications to achieve significant Data Management tasks. A focus of the latter parts of the course is developing skills in creating new columns of data and populating them with data value. All through the course, students will be introduced to Object based programming principles and constructs.
On completion of this course, students will be able to create and define a variety of basic relational data models, open, and close an access database, design, create, and save a table, add, edit and delete data in a table, create relationships between tables, define parent, child & lookup tables, design, create and save a basic form, arrange and view data in a form. The course provide students training on adding up cases to a dataset, variables to a file, computing with Date and Time Variables, the count transformation etc.
