Course in HP UNIX system administration

The course is designed to teach students the administration of HP UNIX System. The course is also intended to prepare students how to effectively handle, maintain, organize, and control HP UNIX system. The main importance will be given on building file system, peripherals and also administering and configuring operating system, patches and application software. The main study area of the course consists of introduction to HP UNIX Administration, install HP UNIX operating system, Understand and use system management tools, create and manage user and group accounts, utilize administrative subsystems, including cron to schedule system tasks, and security to implement custom access of files and directories, configure basic networking. The course is also designed for System Administrators and Programmers and other Technical students who require a full working knowledge of how to administer an HP-UNIX system.
The course assumes knowledge of the HP-UNIX Operating System to the level covered in the HP-UNIX Introduction Course. Some shell programming experience may also prove advantageous; this can be gained on the HP-UNIX Shell Programming Course.
