The course covers a fundamental indulging of the Unix operating system from the user's viewpoint. The major focus of the course is on Bourne and C shells. The course also includes a beginning to the principles of general structure, operation, commands, command language and its use, utilization of the shell to carry out fundamental responsibilities and an impression of a few application programme development tools. The students are trained about the Unix operating system, its multi-user concepts, its basic commands, terminal technique, writing script files etc.
The study details comprise Unix initial system administration concepts, Unix tools such as awk, grep, sed etc. This course outlines the basics of Unix systems, commands and concepts. Students will be trained to command syntax, structure of the file system, shells and scripting, and an understanding of the process surroundings. This course supports all flavors and versions of UNIX.
The contents of the course consist of Introduction to UNIX, UNIX History, Versions, and Shells, Commands, Files, and Directories, File Manipulation Commands, Directory Manipulation Commands, Miscellaneous Commands, File Protection, Command Processing, Job Processing, Initialization Files, UNIX Electronic Mail and so on.
