An official Master's degree offered by the Faculty of Tourism at the Universitat de Girona in Montilivi Campus in the city of Girona, in the afternoon (16 to 20 h.). Explores the cultural sector in its aspect applied to tourism: a meeting point between cultural management and tourism management.

The Master's Degree in Cultural Tourism targets tourism graduates who aspire to become managers of cultural tourism, able to analyze the depth of the concept of tourist destination, the management of cultural institutions and tourist information adaptation to new communication technologies, among other key skills.

It's the only official master's degree in specifically linking tourism and cultural offer in the Spanish context: a response to the need for public policies to create, manage, evaluate and cooperate in cultural tourism projects.

Important information

Requirements: European graduate degree or equivalent (degrees, diplomas, etc.), which must be accredited if they are from a university outside the EU. Specialising in tourism, history of art, geography, history, audio-visual communication, economic science, political science, journalism, publicity and public relations or law. Also a Master's degree in cultural heritage.

Nationally recognised qualification: Official University Master's degree - Ministry of Education

Course programme

The Master's degree includes 12 subjects with 3 ECTS credits each, compulsory work experience and a final thesis.

Additional information

Afternoon classes from 16:00 to 20:00 Work experience in April Presentation of final thesis: July and September. The master's degree price for foreign students non residents in Spain, non nationals from EU, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or Andorra is € 65,41 per credit ECTS. Year 2013-2014.
