The university offers number of courses, one of the course is Diploma in Folk Music. The course is offered under the Folk Music & Dance department. To understand the ethos of rich Indian culture and heritage, it is a necessity that one takes a dip in the different Indian folk traditions. With this understanding the University started the department of Folk Music and Art. The department is actively engaged in teaching and researches of different Indian folk traditions with an emphasis on various folk dance forms of Chhattisg!rh & Madhya Pradesh.
