Yoga is first developed in India and it is mentioned in Hindi religion. It is a mystic form of treatment in which emphasizes is given on body and spirit as a whole.

There are four main types of paths. They are he path of meditation (Raja Yoga), the path of devotion (Bhakti Yoga), the path of selfless service to the Divine (Karma Yoga), and the path of intellectual analysis or the discrimination of truth and reality (Jnana Yoga).
The most important among them is the Hatha Yoga in which physical and breathing exercises and purification techniques is practiced. It is the third and the fourth stages of Ashtanga Yoga of Yoga Sutras by Patanjali
