Sea Explorers Institute offers a program on Disaster Management (Marine) on the Life Saving and Rescue Operation, a two parts, the 8-week program of training, aimed at providing lifesaving skills to trainees:
* PART I: Life Saving and Rescue Operation in Surface Waters
* PART II: Saving & Salvage in Underwater
The damage caused by the recent tsunami has made all of us sit up and take note of the cruelty of marine disasters and large-scale rescue and salvage operations that necessarily. Add to this calamity, and recurring floods and erosion of riverbanks and other marine related accidents such as drowning, collapse of the piers, the capsizing of ships, steamers and boats, and many more. And what you get is increasing evidence of the enormous and growing need of professionals trained for life saving and rescue operations in the water.
Program Outline
PART I: LIFE SAVING AND RESCUE OPERATION IN SURFACE WATER
Program Objective: To learn the practical application of techniques related to water safety, care to save lives and rescue operation.
Program Length:
Trainees can complete this Ist Part within four weeks.
Age Limit: The age of trainees must be within 18-35 years
Requirements:
* Applicants must be physically and mentally fit.
* Applicants should have good knowledge of swimming.
* The educational qualification of class VIII passed (at least).
PART II: LIFE-SAVING AND SALVAGE IN UNDERWATER
Program Objective: The most important objective of this training program is to enable underwater divers to work safely and competently to depth of minimum 33 feet with Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (diving) for the purpose of rescue and rescue operation.
Program Length:
Trainees can complete this IInd Part within four weeks.
Age Limit: The age of trainees must be within 18 -35 years
Requirements:
* Applicants must be physically and mentally fit.
* Applicants should have good knowledge of swimming.
* The minimum academic qualification is Class 10+2 or equivalent. (The relaxation may be considered for sponsored candidates)
