What you'll learn on the course
Top up your early years qualification to a full honours degree on our intensive one-year course, which features two days of work-based learning every week.
You’ll investigate and study a range of early years issues including policy, practice and service development, leadership and change management, health promotion and inclusion, as well as two modules that reflect your specific interests.
There’ll be a strong emphasis on research and investigation, as well as work-based learning with an Early Years employer, generally for two days per week. You’ll also complete a research-led major project on a topic of your choosing.
Experienced early years professionals teach the course and will guide you through your studies, as you link theory to practice, children’s needs to policy, and your own growing knowledge to your professional experience.
On graduating you’ll be ideally equipped to begin your Early Years career or take it to the next level – or to carry on to postgraduate studies or research as a highly capable independent learner.
We’ve aligned this course to the requirements of the former Children’s Workforce Development Council and the Early Years Professional Framework.
