MS in ENT

The college offers number of courses, one of the course is MS in ENT. The course is recognize by the Medical Council of India. This course is offer by the Department of ENT. The duration of the degree course is 3 years and for the diploma course is 2 years, and the mode of selection for this course is entrance tests conducted by All India and state level. The Department of E.N.T. was started in the year 1948 as a unit under Surgery with Dr. S. N. Sarma as its Assistant Professor. It was separated from General surgery in 1951 and Dr.Sarma became Professor and Head. During this period the Out-Patient Department was run in the Berry white Medical school Hospital in the town. After the transfer of Dr. S. N. Sarma to Gauhati Medical College, Dr.B.R.Das was succeeded by Dr. T. Baruah in 1985, who retired in 1993.Then Prof.N.K.Dutta became the HOD. And at Present Prof.S.J. Dutta is the HOD.
