Practice in figure and fabric drawing using paint, pens, inks, pencils and a range of different papers accustom students to bodily proportions and the natural hang of fabrics. Research, observational and analytical drawing, the development of sketchbooks and design roughs lead to the presentation of creative fashion ideas. Mood, theme and story boards are produced and a wide variety of illustration techniques are used. Most projects will finish with a design for a garment or garments and a range of illustrations.
Suitable for: We believe that the most important qualification for our courses is enthusiasm for the subject, a desire to learn creative talent.

Important information

Requirements: No educational requirements for EU students. For Non-EU students: we would need a photocopy of your passport any school/university certificates, art/design/photo certificates, IELTS or any English language certificate from approved providers (check the UKBA list on the website) and samples of your art/design/photo work. You can send all by email. By the new UK Border Agency regulations students should have a good standard of English (at least B1 level) which is the Cambridge ESOL, IELTS mini. 4.0, TOEFL 437-473 or Middle Intermediate Level.

All our courses can lead to a nationally recognised qualification, although entry is not obligatory.

Course programme:

This class will develop your skills in researching and exploring a variety of fashion visualisation techniques used by fashion designers and illustrators. Learners will produce a range of individual approaches using a variety of media, methods and materials to develop their own style and response to a given brief.

We have students who are at varying levels; some are beginner while others already work in the industry. At the end of your course we would expect you to have a level 3 qualification.
