Dialysis is a critical component in nephrology patient care and generally is prescribed when the kidneys have outlived their ability to function. According to World Kidney Day, more than 1.5 million people currently are undergoing renal replacement therapy (RRT) and the number is expected to double within the next 10 years. This course is an endeavour to prepare physicians for the upcoming scenario more efficiently.
In terms of numbers, the National Kidney Foundation (India) estimates that approximately 200,000 people in India go into terminal kidney failure annually and millions more suffer lesser forms of kidney disease.
