Description
The Gujarat flying club was established on 20th December 1958 under the guidance of its founder president, late Mr. Ramanbhai Amin, a keen aviator himself, since its inception, the club has produced a number of commercial pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, flight engineers, as well as flying instructors who are active in the field of aviation to date, with a number of them holding prestigious positions in the Armed Forces as well as with commercial airlines.
THE CLUB AT PRESENT
The club makes a sizeable contribution to the aviation industry even now and offers various training courses which have been approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Government of India, and also in line with Federal of aeronautical international. At present, the club has a fleet of one Cessna 172 glass cockpit and two Cessna 152 airplanes. The civil aviation industry in India is expanding as much as 25% annually increasing the demand on quality trained ground personnel, pilots and engineers for its smooth and safe operation. Bearing in mind that pilots play a primary role in the operation, the Gujarat flying club has designed courses for SPL, PPL and CPL with specialized ground training which the aspiring young pilots have to be initiated in before they are allowed into the cockpit of the training aircraft.
