Course programme

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts this examination in June every year. The IES comprise Group A Services/Posts and Group B Services/ Posts in 4 categories - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering.

EXAM DETAILS Part I

The written examination comprises of two sections: Section I consisting of only objective-type questions and Section II of conventional papers. Both sections will cover the entire syllabus of the relevant Engineering disciplines, i.e., Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

The standard of papers will approximately be that of an Engineering Degree Examination of an Indian University.

The syllabus is indicated in the Notice of the Examination, normally published in December of the year previous to the year of examination.

Part II

Personality Test, carrying a maximum of 200 marks, for candidates who qualify on the basis of the written examination.

(ii) Indian Railway Stores Service (Mechanical Engineering Posts).

(iii) Central Water Engineering Service (Mechanical Engineering Posts).

(iv) Central Power Engineering Service (Mechanical Engineering Posts).

(v) Indian Ordnance Factories Service (Engineering Branch) (MECHANICAL Engineering Posts).

(vi) Indian Naval Armament Service (Mechanical Engineering Posts).

(vii) Military Engineer Service (IDSE- Electrical and Mechanical Cadre) (Mechanical Engineering Posts).

(viii) Assistant Executive Engineer Group 'A (Mechanical Engineering Posts) in the Corps of EME, Ministry of Defence.

(ix) Assistant Naval Store officer Grade I (Mechanical Engineering Posts) in Indian Navy.

(x) Central Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Service (Mechanical Engineering Posts)

(xi) Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) (Mechanical Engineering Posts) in Boarder Roads Engineering Service, Group A'

(xii) Drilling Engineer (Junior) (Grade A) in the Geological Survey of India.

·Our lesson materials cover the syllabus published by the UPSC with theory, worked examples, assignments, question bank and key, with explanatory notes for selected questions of the objective-type and worked out solutions for the problems.

·The previous five years' Question Papers with answers in the respective disciplines will be provided duringthe course.

·Students can use the Doubt Letter Scheme with respect to difficult questions and genuine doubts that arise duringthe course of the students' preparation with our study materials.

Part II - Personality Test

Those who qualify in the written examination will be called for personality test which carries 200 marks. Final merit list is prepared on the basis of combined marks of written examination and personality Test.
