About this course

For applying for the Integrated M.Sc Courses, a candidate should possess First Class with a minimum of 60% marks at +2 level of education (Intermediate/CBSE/ICSE/HSC or equivalent)

The admission to the Integrated M.Sc. courses will be through IIT-JEE 2009 / streams of KVPY 2009 / first rankers of CBSE, ICSE/State Boards of +2 education.

Course programme

The School offers facilities for intensive training and research in the basic areas of Mathematics (including Applied Mathematics), Statistics ‑Operations Research (OR) and Computer and Information Sciences.

The School has two constituent departments namely,

a) Department of Mathematics & Statistics
b) Department of Computer & Information Sciences

Department of Mathematics & Statistics : The Department aims to train people who are oriented towards research and teaching in advanced areas of Mathematics and Statistics. Special attention is given to foundational topics.

Integrated M.Sc (Mathematical Sciences)
This programme is being offered in four streams namely, Systems Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematical Sciences. There will be common core courses in the first two years for all the streams. As the programme has a flexibility, you have a freedom to change from one stream to the other before you complete the first two years subject to certain availability conditions in the other streams.
