Department of Hindi, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady was established in 1994 with a view to propagate, popularize and promote Post graduate and Research studies in Hindi Language and Literature. Within these 11 years of its establishment, Department has set up New courses like PG diploma in Translation besides MA, M.Phil and Ph. D. programmes.

The syllabus with interdisciplinary approach for all courses offered. Every year we have a good rush for admission in all courses including the latest integrated PhD programme. At present 41 Research Scholars are engaged in Research work. 30 Research Scholars have been awarded PhD degree in Hindi, under Faculty of Indian Languages.
