Candidates who have taken their first degree in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering or Medicine, Commerce etc. are eligible to apply, provided they have secured 50 percent or more marks in aggregate in their first degree examination of a Course which is of three or more years duration after the 10+2 Examination. Age limit for admission is a maximum of 30 years on August 1, 2006. The students have to submit along with the application form a Statement of Purpose which should also briefly encapsulates all the extra curricular activities they have been involved with. The students are not to submit a Portfolio at this stage, but are expected to carry a Portfolio in case of selection to the interview stage.
This course introduces students to the structure and function of the mass media with special attention given to news and information. It is designed to introduce mass communication majors to the field and various media industries, and it will help all students become more informed and discerning media consumers
