he department was started during 2003-04 with an objective of generating competent professionals with an aim to meet the challenges in the field of Electronics. Amongst various specializations in electronics, digital and communication electronics forms the foundation for the state-of-art technology. Keeping in view the latest up coming trends in Electronics, the department has come up with two Choices under CBCS viz. Digital Electronics and Communication Electronics.

Digital and Communication Electronics programme intends to generate skilled professionals with thorough knowledge in the basic concepts and applications of Analog and Digital Devices, Analog and Digital Communications, VHDL, VLSI Design, etc. The programme of Digital Electronics is well structured to produce professionals who are fully competent to tackle all kinds of challenges related to Digital Electronics such as applications of Advanced Microprocessor and Microcontrollers, Medical Electronics, Digital System Design. Communication Electronics is aimed to produce professions to meet the challenges in the field of communications and imparts thorough knowledge on Fibre Optic, Microwave and Satellite communications, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), etc.

The department has dedicated staff and eight newly established, well-equipped & sophisticated laboratories viz. Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Microprocessors (8085, 8086 with necessary interfacing devices), Micro-controllers (8051), Optical Fiber Communications, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) & MAT lab, Computer Communication Networks and VHDL.
